FAG PACKET GALLERY
Lu Williams, September 2020

Natasha MacVoy (curator of HER MIT Projects) met Lu Williams in the kitchen at g39, Cardiff, whilst she was on residency and Lu was in town to deliver a zine making workshop. They struck up conversation over g39's regular free Saturday Soup, which led to a slow exchange of emails and messages as an idea for a work in the Fag Packet Gallery evolved. Emails discussed the difficulty of folding and constructing the packet, changes of ideas, the use of deadlines to be productive and the evolution of the Emergency Zine Kit into a product available through Lu William's Grrrl Zine Fair.

Lu created the template above for the Fag Packet Gallery structure and sourced the contents so that a complete zine making kit could fit neatly and easily inside.
Grrrl Zine Fair is run by artist Lu Williams and celebrates contemporary feminism through zines, live events, practical workshops and a pop up library that tours the world. Check out their AMAZING website and go to their shop to purchase your own Mini Zine Making Kit here:



Inspired by the Emergency Zine Kit I made a zine about a conversation that took place in my house. Each character represented by the colour of the card with their tone suggested by the writing style. Words were selected and edited from memory so were not completely accurate.
